Gluten Free Goodies

Whole Foods has a whole section for Gluten Free items in the frozen food case. I had delicious brownies by "Foods By George". Gluten-free, Wheat-free, Lactose-free, Casein-free, Dairy-free, Soy-free. You may ask what is left? The most delicious, moist, chocolat-y brownies. Use of white rice and tapioca and potato flour. Cocoa powder and aluminum free baking powder are other ingredients. Definitely going to purchase more. Can cut them in small square chunks and serve as bit-sized treats. Yummy for everyone!

Permalink Reply by Susan Cullen on June 6, 2009 at 1:31pm: If you love brownies, want them healthy, are willing to bake an easy recipe, want to save money and/or don't have a Whole Foods near you, then get any GF brownie mix (I love Bob's Red Mill brand), replace the liquid in the recipe (eggs, water, oil, etc.) with a can of black beans (rinsed please), replace the beans back in the can, and fill the can with water, or use plain refried black beans (my lazy way). When adding the black beans to the brownie mix, make sure you mash them up and nobody will know they are in there but make the brownies taste so rich and fudgy. If you want the recipe, write me directly and I will send it to you as a Word attachment.
