In case you haven't heard about it yet, there is a CSF in town! Working to promote the ecological and economic benefits of locally caught seafood, the Cape Ann Fresh Catch community supported fishery kicked off a pilot 12-week season in July with 780 shareholders in 8 different locations in the greater Boston area. Brought to you by the Gloucester Fishermen's Wives Association (GFWA), MIT SeaGrant and the Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance, Cape Ann Fresh Catch (CAFC), Community Supported Fishery program, or CSF, is a collaboration of shore side residents and the local fishing community. CSF members give the fishing community financial support in advance of the season, and in turn the fishermen provide a weekly share of seafood during the harvesting season to shareholders. A CSF reconnects people to the ocean that sustains them and builds a rewarding relationship between fishermen and shareholders.
Due to the amazing amount of interest, we are adding another 12-week season and two new locations starting August 17th. If you are interested in joining, please download the contract from
http://www.namanet.org/ and send it in by August 10th to start getting your share of fresh, off the boat seafood weekly.

Look forward to sharing some locally caught seafood with you soon!
