Dancing Spoon

I'm writing a book all about the best restaurants in the world. Does anybody have any ideas on what to put in? Anything that you thinks should definitely be included? Thanks
p.s. I'm new to the whole blogging thing. How do I go about adding a recipe too?

I'd like to know more about your book. Are you writing about the 4 Star restaurants, or the small regional ones?

There are several ways to add content to this site. You can go to your own "My Page" and on the right column there is a "Quick Add" drop down menu. From here you can add a blog post or even start a discussion. You can also join some of our groups and add recipes there. Try The Recipe Club for starters.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the advice. I'll put up a recipe soon - once I've had a chance to browse around this site some more.

In regards to the book, I'm not sure at this stage. I had envisaged the michelin star type restaurants. Here in Australia they are rated as having Chef Hats - 3 stars being very rare but essentially the best in the country. I have no doubt that some of our restaurants here would be competitive with others around the world, but I would like to hear from people like yourself.

But, as you've pointed out, the best restaurants in the world may not always have stars or chef hats. You obviously know your stuff when it comes to food and restaurants. What do you think?

Thanks,
Bryan

Well that depends on what you want your book to be. And how you plan to gather information. Hopefully your research will take you to every Star-and-Chef-Hat-rated restaurant for "research." Then you can compare to all of the regional spots. What a life!

Yes I know, it will be tough 'research'. It will take me some time but hey, someone has to do it :)

In terms of what I want the book to be, I really want it to be almost like an open discussion of what people truly beleive is the best in the world in terms of cuisine and restaurants. Rather than having a checklist to choose the best restaurants, I want people to tell me what they're passionate about and why - in terms of restaurants.

I've spoken to several people - from Executive Chefs of top class hotels to at home cooks to family and friends and I get such varying responses. That's why I guess I'm wanting to start with peoples thoughts and ideas first and then take the road to further "research".

What are your thoughts on that?

Francis Mallmann's restaurants in Argentina and Uruguay have been listed by USA Today and The Times of London as among the top ten in the world. He is definitely a genius and trailblazer when it comes to food. Especially wood fired food, which is what I love. Check out his book Seven Fires, that just came out.
