Cooking @ Seafood Throwdown!

Calling all cooks! Or at least those who call themselves amateur cooks...

We have had a last minute cancellation for this week's Seafood Throwdown (October 2) at Cape Ann's Farmers' Market (read more about it in the Eat Local Fish community section) organized by the Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance (NAMA). The events are designed to promote ecologically responsible, economically sustainable locally caught seafood and Community Supported Fisheries (CSF). These events have turned out to be a lot of fun and very popular in our community.

The concept is to introduce a locally caught seafood to the cooks/chefs, give them time to shop the market for ingredients, then cook and plate their food.

Very low pressure but high amount of fun. Just ask Michael Wheeler about it! He judged one of the Throwdowns last month.

The last day of the Seafood Throwdown is October 9th, which is the last day of the Cape Ann Farmers' Market in Gloucester. Related events are brewing, though. We'll keep you all posted.
